Dr. Padmanabhan is a Senior ENT Consultant with expertise in several fields in ENT, especially in ear diseases and voice disorders. He has brought to Baby Memorial Hospital his wealth of experience over 24 years, striking a perfect balance between surgical skill and academic qualifications. His experience in treatment is evident in his minimal use of medicines like antibiotics for many ENT conditions. His vast experience brings a level of expertise which is unmatched due to the variety of cases that he has dealt with till now.

Dr Padmanabhan’s range of services include skill sets and expertise which are not seen in other ENT doctors. He is a certified voice specialist, the first such specialist in Kannur, having trained under renowned laryngologist Dr. Jayakumar Menon. A doctor dealing with voice pathologies needs to be particularly skilled in the medical (voice therapy) and surgical treatment of voice, and Dr Padmanabhan is an expert in both of these.

He has received training in ear diseases and ear surgery from Dr. Manoj M P, Kerala’s first Cochlear implant surgeon. This makes him an expert in dealing with complicated ear surgeries like mastoidectomy, stapedectomy and inner ear procedures.

He is an expert in performing surgeries like thyroidectomy, salivary gland surgery and neck surgeries, all routine sinus surgeries including endoscopic surgery for lacrimal gland (Dacryocysto rhinostomy), and endoscopic surgeries to arrest nasal bleeding.

With an excellent academic background, being a gold medalist right from his MBBS days and which has continued through his MS and DNB degrees. A graduate of Trivandrum Medical college and post graduate from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, he is the first ENT specialist in Kerala to be awarded the gold medal in the DNB exam conducted at the ALL-INDIA level. He has the perfect blend of academics and practical knowledge which he has practiced and perfected over the last 24 years having worked in prestigious hospitals like Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Kasturba Medical College.

A regular faculty and speaker at ENT conferences at the National, State and regional level, Dr Padmanabhan is known for his presentation skills. He has published articles in several national and international journals. He is a regular ENT quiz master and blogger.
