Dr. Rakesh T Parakadavathu completed his MBBS form Calicut Medical College and MD in Internal Medicine from Govt. Medical College, Nagpur. He also holds DNB in Internal medicine. He completed his internationally recognized 3-year fellowship program in Infectious diseases from Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar and also passed the MRCP-UK specialty certificate examination in Infectious diseases. He was former Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine as faculty in Directorate of Medical Education in Kerala government.
His expertise in Infectious Diseases not only benefits primary teams such as Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Orthopedics but also significantly improves outcomes in cases related to infections.
Dr. Rakesh specializes in managing challenging infections, dealing with multidrug-resistant organisms, diabetic foot infections, tackling chronic osteomyelitis, managing prosthetic joint infections, and providing comprehensive care for those with HIV.
Leading the way in healthcare innovation, Dr. Rakesh serves as the lead for the antimicrobial stewardship program at BMH Kannur – one of its first kind in Malabar. His dedication to advancing medical practices is further highlighted by his numerous publications in national and international journals.
