The Department of Medical Oncology comprises of well-qualified and experienced Medical Oncologists. This Department is a specialty that deals with the diagnosis, staging and treatment of cancer through various types of medications with the help of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormonal therapy and targeted therapy.

Calicut medical college Dept. of Radiotherapy and Clinical Oncology has One Cobalt Machine (Equinox), Two Linear accelerators by Varian (Truebeam STx, Clinac iX) with Eclipse version 15.1 treatment planning system , HDR brachytherapy - Gammamed iX with Brachyvision planning system and a fluoroscopy 2D simulator, 4DCT simulator. We have separate neutropenia ICU, Day care chemotherapy ward, four general oncology ward and a brachytherapy theatre. Approximately 4500 new cancer patients are registered per yearat our centre. The teaching programme followed guidelines laid down by Kerala University of health science (KUHS).
